Larry Craig

Friday, August 31st, 2007

If being a homosexual is okay by modern standards, why should Larry Craig resign his Senate seat? If exercizing bad judgement is the standard, almost everyone associated with government should resign. But not hiring an attorney: unforgivable!

The Shot Heard \’Round the World

So, we Americans own 270 million of the world\’s 840 million privately-owned firearms. Does somebody have a problem with that?!

Testing Teresa\’s Testimony

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

The Dark Side will never acknowlege her battles with doubt as being anything but proof that there is no light. Yet it is this doubt that is the fertilizer that nourishes faith. One can endure just so much BS before recognizing that there simply must be something more meaningful to be harvested from all of this mortal messiness.

An Open Letter to CNN

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

To equate, even in the holey name of political correctness, the motivations and actions of Christians and Jews with those of the extremist elements of radical Islam must, at the very least cause any rational human to question CNN\’s already strained, stained and tainted motto: \”the Most Trusted Name in News\”. I did not think your organization could possibly abuse this notion much more than it regulary does, but alas.

I have a question for Ms. Amanpour, the dreary queen of journalism\’s dark side, the deft diviner of defeatist doctrine, the diva of drivel, the author of \”God\’s Warriors\”; does forgiving you qualify me as a radical Christian?

A Democratic Ideal

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

The proposed new proposition on California\’s ballot might prove more interesting than the Presidential Election and will certainly make all future Presidential elections more compelling for Californians (and the rest of the nation). If passed by the voters of the state it would award the State\’s Electoral votes according to each Congressional District, 22 of which voted Republican in the last election. As it currently stands all 55 Electoral votes (the largest Electoral windfall lin the nation) go to the candidate who captures the majority of the votes statewide; aka \”Winner Take All\”. If we employed California\’s system nationwide, the Electoral College would not even have a reason to meet in December. All the votes would automatically go to the popular majority-winning candidate. This doesn\’t sound very equitable yet this is how it presently works in CA (naturally!).

This proposed amendment of the current governing statute will launch an interesting debate. What sounds like a very good and Democratic idea will be met with howls of scorn and tirades of protest by the Democrat party; the party that only professes concern for democracy. They have won all 55 votes for decades and the idea of sharing them now will simply not be seen as \”fair\”. If enough signatures are gathered to qualify this measure for the ballot, it\’ll be tantrum time in Tinseltown. Forget the Oscars!
