Under Siege by the American Basij

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Prepare to be besieged by the American version of the Basij. We call it Acorn. They are Obama\’s new domestic army.

Call me Senator, Please

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

The reason the General called Barbara Boxer \”ma\’am\” instead of \”Senator\” is probably because he had just eaten lunch and was loath to lose it in contemplation of how anyone so odious and inept could ever attain such a position of power. He may be a general but he is still a man. Isn\’t there a retired general somewhere in California who could eat her lunch, politically speaking? She is up for re-election in 2010.

The Proposition 8 victory proved that California is not a completely hopeless state but with the likes of Boxer, Feinstein and Pelosi as cover girls it is easy to see why most of the rest of America is unimpressed, when not expressing open hostility with the pyrite politics of Golden State. It is not just their shoddy ideology that bothers most people; people are fairly tolerant of others\’ sincerely held beliefs. It is the corruption and ineptitude they foster and further that is the greatest source of disdain. They are both distasteful and disgraceful. Surely California with its 35,000,000 million citizens can do better!

But before one unleashes too much venom on California one would have thought that 300,000,000 Americans would do better than putting a chronic bungler, Mr. Misstep, the Tele-prevaricator, the Artful Dodgeless, the Anti-Chrysler, the GM (Great Messiah) behind the desk in the Oval Office.

In Bed with the Fed

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Obama says he is losing sleep worrying over the budget deficit. He must be getting those 3:00 AM phone calls to which Hillary had alluded. A significant percentage of the population is also losing sleep worrying about the Stepford president and what he and his puppeteers at the Fed are doing to us while we try to sleep. I wonder who is calling him at 3:00 AM. It\’s gotta be Geithner. Some things never sleep.

What is Your Favorite Color?

Monday, June 15th, 2009

The Poached Frog notes that someone has turned Newt into a newt—and he isn\’t getting better. What remains of the former Speaker\’s conservative credentials have been squandered by teaming up with Hillary, by appearing in a pro-climate-change public service announcement (i.e. propaganda piece) with (holy hand grenade!) Nancy Pelosi, of all people, and endorsing the latent conservatism of Colin Powell, who fully affirmed the role of affirmative action in his own rise to prominence by throwing his support behind a Marxist for president. Strange bedfellows indeed! Give us Castle Anthrax, please!

Newt has either been masquerading as a conservative all these years, which would make sense considering all that the Republicans have done to advance conservative values and principles in the last 15 years, or he is now masquerading as a left-of-center centrist. One thing seems certain; he must be getting ready to run for president. Don\’t be fooled! He\’s just another political chameleon. His favorite color is red—no—blue!

Flag Day

Flag Day, 2009: What a Free and Strong America means to Me

America is not a place. It is an ideal distilled from the wisdom of the ages by people of good character who held these resultant truths to be self-evident; that God, not government, is the grantor of our liberty, and that each citizen’s worth is inherent within this context.

America has become the lodestar for generations of refugees from myriad forms of tyrannical rule. Americans are self-created everywhere, recognizing their birthright upon observing the shining city on a hill, dreaming the dream of freedom or upon breaching their confines and reaching the teeming shores.

As the pinnacle of human liberty, this land represents the best and the worst of creative expression because freedom, by its very nature, presupposes the right to do wrong including, sadly, the freedom to destroy Old Glory; freedom\’s very symbol. But this is our current cultural condition and the right to freely choose is the only means whereby righteousness can ultimately be ascribed. Tyrannical orders of every kind, who permit no such desecration of their own symbols, offer their own subjects no such hope of reward.

Liberty is the mother of creativity. The freedom to profit from one’s own inspiration and innovation is central to human kind’s rapid advance in almost every field of endeavor. For most of human history information could travel no faster than a horse could gallop. From the birth of this nation, the breathtaking expansion of knowledge and technology has granted untold numbers of people the opportunity to fix their gazes on a limitless horizon of possibilities. That horizon is yet ablaze with potential for the human enterprise.

Is this not worth defending with every talent we possess? Is this not worth every effort required to raise this Title of Liberty for all to see?

Grand Theft on a Grand Scale

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

Italian police near the Swiss border yesterday discovered $134,000,000,000 worth of US Treasury notes in the false bottom of suitcase in the possession of two middle aged Japanese men who were bound for the secretive Alpine haven employed for generations as the repository of the yields from questionable transactions. While some dust has been kicked up in an attempt to color these two gentlemen as counterfeiters, this is a smokescreen. Counterfeiters are not going to take fakes to Switzerland! That\’s as likely as attempting to sell fake Rolexes in the main train station in Geneva. No one is that stupid! These notes are probably not counterfeit at all. These two men are the Japanese version of “coyotes” or “mules”; two of a team of such whose regular job it is to smuggle real treasury notes into Switzerland where they are deposited for benefit of the gangsters best known as the Federal Reserve, private bankers who have pillaged America for nearly a century now. You wondered where the TARP funds went? If any industry should legitimately qualify for nationalization it is the Fed.

Lack of Intelligence

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

In an unprecedented, but unsurprising move, Obama has ordered that US troops now \”Mirandize\” enemy combatants captured on the battlefield. To facilitate this he has ordered FBI agents to be embedded with the troops. What this means is that our soldiers and Marines will now be required to inform each prisoner that he has the right to remain silent and that anything he says can and will be used against him in a court of law and that he has the right to attorney and that if he cannot afford an attorney one will be appointed for him. No, I am not kidding. I wish that I was.

This is grand foolishness on many levels. First, this blurs the distinction between cops and military personnel. If a soldier or Marine has to stop to consider which hat he is wearing at a given moment, the hesitation could cost him and his buddies their lives. Second, this will completely undermine the military\’s ability to collect the intelligence necessary to prevent the enemy from being successful, further endangering the lives of our service men and women and putting their respective missions at risk of failure. It appears that we neither need nor want intelligence. Voila! But it will force our military personnel to collect crime scene evidence on the battlefield, often for their own future legal defense. Third, it grants citizenship status to foreign enemy combatants and grants them access to the American legal system with all the rights that apply to American citizens. And, of course, the US taxpayer, who funds the military for the purpose of national defense will now have to fund the defense of those whose stated goal is to defeat our military. But the lawyers get paid and that is all that really matters, right?

This is what happens when you elect lawyers to become members of the Executive and Legislative Branches of government. It is interesting to look at US Attorney General, Eric Holder\’s record of defending terrorists in our court system. Just who is being monitored by the embedded FBI agents in the field; the terrorists or our troops? Clauswitz once stated that war was politics by other means. Obama believes that politics is war by other means.

The only people more highly suspect for their lack of intelligence in this arena are the people who voted for those currently in positions of power. We got change alright. Thanks a bunch! Let\’s hope there\’s still hope.

Judge for Yourself

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

There never was much hope that the Supreme Court would halt the sale of Chrysler to Fiat, overturn the Obama administration\’s unconstitutional takeover of GM and Chrysler, overrule the violation of 200+ years of contract law by a federal judge aligned with the administration in this blatant move to nationalize private industry, in short, would do what is right. The judicial branch has long been a significant problem in this country as it is largely filled with elitists who have little regard for anyone who is not one of the annointed. There are, naturally, exceptions but they are exceptional.

The problem is deeper than than the average person would suspect. Separation of Powers is a critical constitutional doctrine that has largely been ignored for some time. As you have read in these pages before, attorneys and judges are officers of the court; members of the Judicial Branch of government. Separation of powers requires that there be no conflict of interest among the branches. As attorneys have managed to fill both the Legislative and the Executive Branches of government, we have beheld the unfolding of a judicial monopoly in the federal government and state governments, as well. We are now a nation awash in laws, red tape and regulation and when we find ourselves confronting this enormous and ominous mountain of law we can barely proceed without the assistance of an attorney.

And you thought separation of church and state (which does not exist in the founding documents and did not exist until the court arbitrarily created it) was the big separation issue in the Constitution! Judge for yourself.

The Declaration of Independence is clear as to the appropriate response of the citizenry when \”government becomes destructive of these ends (life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, among others)\”. What will you do to defend your country against all enemies, foreign and domestic?

Payback Time

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

So, 10 banks want to pay back $68,000,000,000 in government bailout money. That\’s great! How much did each actually receive from TARP in the first place? We have no idea. No one will tell us. I will make that deal. You give me, say, $10,000 and I will give you back $100 and we\’ll call it square. Deal?

What Does PETA Say?

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Over the weekend, Palestinian terrorists used booby-trapped horses in a failed attack on Israeli forces at a Gaza border crossing. The gunmen and the horses were killed. I await a statement by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) condemning the murder of these innocent animals and their use in a military operation. Should PETA fail to denounce the militant Palestinians for this monstrous abuse, the PETA people will have shown themselves to be thoughtlessly and hopelessly aligned with the Left and bereft of moral authority. ET must have gone home, leaving only the PA.

Racism

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

There is no such thing as reverse racism. There is only racism, and way too much of it from every angle. We are all God\’s children in spite of the way some of us behave.

Nice Stache!

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

The speech was brilliant! The mustache that framed his moving lips was spectacular in its understatement (but the Arabs got it)! The words were well-chosen; the thoughts imparted, carefully crafted. It would have been a politically ingenious creation and a luminous moment in modern history but for the fact that his actions, particularly domestically, speak much louder than his words. What about freedom in this country? Why encourage Iran to build nuclear power plants when he will not permit them to be built here? This is but one significant point of departure in the divergence of his words and deeds. But what would one expect from Big Bro? It would also have been helpful if the guest lecturer had a better grasp of the historical facts. Palestine was the creation of the British Empire and certainly one of the colonial problems to which he made reference. Equating the national aspirations of Israel, the ancient land of the Jews, with an historically non-existent \”homeland\” for the perpetually homeless Bedouin Arabs only serves to further the misunderstandings. But what would one expect from the smartest man in the world? If history tells us anything it tells us this; this man, filled to overflowing with hubris and deceit, is a first-class tyrant in the making.
