Watch out folks; here it comes. Obama recognizes that his days of influence are rapidly waning as his super majority will end in November. As a result, he is putting the pedal to the metal on all of the plans initially outlined for a roll-out over 8 years. He must pony up on the promises he made to the unions, the environmentalists, the homosexuals, the pharmaceutical companies, the illegal aliens, ACORN, Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton, Al Gore, George Soros, NOW, Planned Parenthood, the Federal Reserve, and the 60’s radicals that helped him launch his political career. We are witnessing the first snowballs on the slippery slopes of state. And they will continue as long as we permit him to behave as a king.

Hypocrisy or Hubris?

John McCain must believe that he lost to Obama because he wasn’t socialist enough. This is the only way to explain his having written a bill to regulate nutritional supplements a la the European model, and this before sitting down with a handful of real Republicans at Obama’s health care summit.

Most people who are even slightly conscious do not have a problem understanding that proper nutrition is a critical component of good health. How many of the 60+ minerals essential to good health are found in the food we eat? How many maladies are the result of inadequacies in our diets? Are supplements an important element in maintaining good health?

I have lived in Europe and have been subject to socialized medicine. Their control over the supplement market is part of their socialized program. European governments do not want people to be responsible for their own well-being. That sounds like a bold statement on the surface but what other conclusion can be drawn? My friends over there give me orders for things as simple as multivitamins and vitamin C every time they hear that I am coming over, so tightly are these things controlled and so expensive are they when available at all.

I honor McCain’s service to our country but I think he has been on the DC cocktail circuit way too long. What is he thinking? Is this hypocrisy or hubris? From whom is he taking advice? McCain should fire that person or the people of Arizona should fire him. Adding this to the disaster that was McCain/Feingold and the best solution to the problem seems obvious; to generously contribute to JD Hayworth’s campaign to unseat the increasingly unhinged senator from Sedona.

The purpose of the Democrat health care plan is ostensibly to provide coverage for the approximately 30,000,000 Americans without current coverage while simultaneously reducing the cost of health care across the board. The plan calls for raising taxes immediately while providing coverage beginning in 2014. At an anticipated cost of at least $2,000,000,000,000, this is calculates to $66,000 per person presently without health insurance. These uninsured citizens (those who actually want insurance) could certainly obtain cheaper coverage through 99% of the insurance carriers in the U.S. marketplace. Does all of this add up? Only to those who have other motives altogether, and who are not only altogether dumb but deaf.

Say No to Food Deserts

The First Lady, in an admirable effort to rein in childhood obesity and borrowing a line from Nancy Reagan, has been quoted as saying “Just say No to food deserts”. I am wondering if California’s lower central valley, turned into a dust-bowl by the EPA’s favoritism of the Delta smelt over the human population, qualifies as a food desert. Or was she actually saying “Just say No to dessert”?

Real Transparency, At Last

The man who promised but consistently failed to deliver openness and transparency in his administration has finally revealed the major component of his plan for the political future of his party, and his own; graft.

After having twice offended the people of Las Vegas, and having nearly destroyed that city (and Harry Reid) with his thoughtless remarks, he has come to the rescue of the city (and Harry Reid) he besmirched with $1,500,000,000 from the Democrat slush fund, aka TARP (or the Stimulus package; take your pick). While I am sure that no one will refuse the money, not even the blind will miss the point of this political exercise.

This is the most transparent thing Obama has done. But one thing, Mr. President; you have hurt and offended me. Is my payola check in the mail or are you guilty of discrimination?

Tea for Two

As a life-long politically active unaffiliated voter and as a former independent candidate for the California Assembly and early organizer for the Reform Party, I offer this advice to the Tea Party. Do not run candidates for office. Instead use your grass roots mobility to hold both Republicans and Democrats to account, thereby forcing both parties to field better candidates and to be more responsive to the recommendations of the movement. Running third party candidates will do little to generate the change needed in both major parties. It would, however, dilute the effectiveness of the organization’s message while providing little chance of electoral victory to the Tea Party. Throw your weight to the best candidate or accept being marginalized to extinction.

An Educational Moment

The Harvard educated Alabama university professor, Amy Bishop, who shot and killed the male members of the faculty who had just denied her tenure has provided us with some timely insight into the nature of irrational anger and its manifestations.

In this age of the politically correct vilification of men (especially while men) it is appropriate to recall some of the famous and infamous women whose deeds overwhelmingly prove that women can also be cold, hard, calculating criminals. Lucretia Borgia comes to mind, along with Lizzy Borden, Bonnie Parker, Salome (the one who asked for John the Baptist’s head on a platter), Typhoid Mary, Eva Peron, Susan Atkins, Squeaky Fromme, Andrea Yates, Frances Newton, Blanche Moore, Diane Downs, Susan Smith, Elena Ceausescu, Tokyo Rose, Ma Barker, Jezebel, Ethyl Rosenberg, Mata Hari, Belle Starr, Pearl Hart, Etta Place, Ellen Watson, Elizabeth Bthory, Mary Anne Cotton, Genene Jones, Marybeth Tinning, Karla Homolka, Ailene Wuronos and Janet Reno, whose Justice Department made it chic to revile men.

A Texas University study, conducted by two women, on the subject of domestic violence determined that women are more likely to commit violence on their counterparts than the other way around. The reason that we do not hear much about this is because men are less likely to call the cops. It is simply not manly to complain that one’s wife or girlfriend beat him up.

It would be well to have an open dialogue about the realities as opposed to perpetuating the myths; not just about domestic violence but about all things that have been protected and promulgated by the PC police over the last generation. Don’t you think we have had enough of the lies?

I am sure that Professor Bishop will now find a life-time position in an Alabama institution as a result of her actions.

(The Bishop story also tells us that a Harvard University education is not the imprimatur that some would have us believe.)
